  1. What is the difference between PCS Short Mail and PCS Mail?
    PCS Mail offers all the standard e-mail capabilities, including e-mail forwarding, folders attachments (PC only for attachments), and POP/SMTP access. By contrast, PCS Short Mail allows you to send a short message to a mobile phone number as opposed to an email address. PCS Short Mail does not have the standard e-mail features (folders and attachments).

  2. How do I access PCS Mail from the PC?
    To access PCS Mail from the PC, log into your account via www.sprintpcs.com and click the email link in the My Planner section of the page. From here you can compose new emails or manage your inbox and folders.

  3. How do I access PCS Mail from the wireless device?
    Each wireless device has a slightly different menu. Follow these steps:
    1. Open the Wireless Web or PCS Vision Browser from the PCS phone.
    2. From the homepage, select Messaging or @sprintpcs.
    3. Select PCS Mail to access the PCS Mail screen
    4. From the PCS Mail screen, enter your username and password if prompted. NOTE: This option will appear only if you selected the sign off option at the end of your previous PCS Mail session.

  4. How do I erase a PCS Mail message from the wireless device?
    Messages are erased by selecting, scrolling to the bottom of the message that you wish to delete and selecting the Erase link. Here is the step-by-step process:
    1. Select Inbox and then select the message you wish to read.
    2. Select View and read your email.
    Either
    1. Scroll to the bottom of the message and select Erase.
    Or
    1. Click Menu and select Erase.

  5. What is the storage limitation for PCS Mail?
    The maximum storage for the PCS Mail is 5MB. Once this size limit has been reached, you will be required to erase some of your messages before you will be able to send or receive messages.

  6. Can I send PCS Mail messages to any email address?
    PCS Mail allows you to send email messages to any valid email address.

  7. What does PCS Mail cost?
    If accessing from your PCS Device, charges are applied the same as they are for internet usage through the Wireless Web or PCS Vision browsers. The service is free when accessing from Sprintpcs.com on your PC.

  8. What are notifications and how do they work?
    Notifications are text messages which can be sent to your PCS Phone to let you know when you have a new email. In order to receive notifications, your PCS Phone must be turned on and in a PCS coverage area. The PCS Mail system will only attempt to deliver an email notification for 72 hours. After the 72 hours, the notification will be erased from our system.

  9. How do I turn on notifications?
    1. Login to your account on Sprintpcs.com.
    2. Click on Email under PCS Mail in the My Planner section.
    3. Click on Settings and Preferences on the right side of the screen (not the left column).
    4. Click on the Notifications Tab.
    5. Enter the appropriate information in the notifications by PCS Phone section.

  10. What are the PCS Mail addresses for setting up POP/IMAP service?
    Here are the POP, SMTP, and IMAP server addresses for PCS Mail:

  11. How do I use PCS Mail to retrieve messages from my other email accounts?
    It is possible to access other email accounts through PCS Mail, if that account is POP3 compliant. In order to do so, you must get the POP server address and the POP port number. Once you have obtained this information, follow this procedure:
    1. Login to your account on Sprintpcs.com.
    2. Click on Email under PCS Mail in the My Planner section.
    3. Click on Settings and Preferences on the right side of the screen (not the left column).
    4. Click the Setup tab.
    5. Under External Email Source, click Add.
    6. Fill in the required fields with your other email information and then click Done.

  12. How do I retrieve PCS Mail messages from another email account?
    It is possible to access your PCS Mail message from another email account. To do so you must provide the PCS Mail POP or IMAP server names, see below, to your other email provider; in most cases, you can do this from their website.

  13. How do I use the folder feature in PCS Mail?
    PCS Mail allows you to create folders for message storage and organization. You may add, delete and move folders. Messages can be moved from your inbox into the folder of your choice. To create a folder, sign in to PCS Mail and click Create Folder. To move a message to a folder, select the message and click Move.
